The shell of this project and its contents are enclosed within its title: of techne and logos. Splitting the word 'technology' into its Greek origin techne (τέχνη), and logos (λόγος), this work is of craft and discourse.

Fascinated by the abstraction of matter found in the semiotic study of things that are born under the pretense of being purely aesthetic, such as fashion and cosmetics, I am also moved by the materiality of the word, of something that was born spoken and immaterial, but can be modeled like paste in its written form.

Crafting the word perfects it. Starting from the bare material - the letter - each character becomes clay, dirtying the hands modeling it, and the page onto which it is being modeled over and over again. Its imprint on fingertips, fingertips imprinted onto it.

As hands smooth it over, each mark and strikethrough moulds to its final form, not until perfection, but until one runs out of time and the clay hardens.
